Testimonials

Kevin Wolf,

award-winning author of The Homeplace

“...Jordan’s brushstrokes made the story better. She convinced me my last chapter wasn’t quite right. Yeah, Jordan provided a well-thought-out editorial letter. She sent page-by- page notes. But more than that, she immersed herself in the story as a reader and as an editor. I’ll use her again."

About

My name is Jordan Godwin

I have a Bachelors degree in creative writing and film and a Masters degree in applied linguistics. Out of college, I lived abroad and then taught Language Arts and ESL for eight years. My experience as a teacher influences how much I love working with and encouraging writers of all levels, including writers for whom English is a second (or third or fourth) language.

In 2019, I transitioned to freelance writing and editing full time, although I'd been writing and editing all along, and participating actively in critique circles and writers associations. My membership with the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and Central Colorado Writers allowed me the opportunity to serve as judge for their respective writing contests and meet many fiction writers whose books I've had the pleasure of editing and critiquing.

In my freelancing, I have also written and edited for businesses in the pharmaceutical and scientific industries, human services, psychology, and more, priming me for editing book-length works of non-fiction in addition to fiction.

I love working with authors of all genres. My focus is helping you make the story you want to tell the most powerful it can be. Reach out to tell me about your book!
